Chiropractic Services

The multitude of techniques available at Beechwood Family Wellness allows our patients to choose which they prefer for their care. We primarily use a hands-on approach but also have instrument-based adjusting that is extremely gentle. All the techniques used in your care are safe and effective.

Activator Methods®

A device delivers gentle clicks where your body needs correction. The instrument performs the adjustment rather than having it done by hand. Your body isn’t twisted or turned, and there’s no sound that results from this technique. It’s used often on newborns and children. read more»

Custom Orthotics

Waterloo Chiropractor Custom Orthotics

Our foot scanner helps us create a custom care plan

Our Foot Levelers Associate® Platinum Scanner measures where the weight is distributed in the feet. A thorough assessment is with a gait analysis and a functional examination. Then, a casting is taken with a scanner or a 3D foam casting kit. We’ll assist you in using your insurance benefits for orthotics, which can help with

  • Flat feet
  • Foot pain
  • Heel spurs
  • Hip pain
  • Knee pain
  • Plantar fasciitis

Electromyography (EMG) Scan

This scan measures muscle tension to understand where pinched nerves may be that can affect your musculature.

Heart Rate Variability

A device measures your heart rate to assess your health. If pressure on your nervous system is present, we won’t see much variability in your heart rate. This assessment technique shows where signs of malfunction or disease exist in the body.

Posture Check

We’ll assess your shoulder, hip and neck to see if there is proper balance in your body. If there is an imbalance, it indicates a misalignment in the spine.

Range of Motion Testing

By turning and rotating your body, we can see if your spine is moving properly. This functional test assesses the condition and alignment of your spine.

Thermal Scan

Temperature is used to compare the left and right sides of your spine. If there is a significant difference in temperature, it indicates pressure on the nerves in that area. Your nerves regulate the blood vessels in the skin, as well as the function of every organ, cell and tissue in your body. A difference in temperature means a misalignment is present. You may not have any pain or symptoms, but this test will detect pressure in your nervous system.

X-rays

If Dr. Charles determines that X-rays are necessary to properly assess your condition you may be referred by Dr. Charles to a nearby lab. X-rays are usually covered by OHIP.

We’ll give you a comprehensive assessment to understand your needs. Contact us today to find out how we can help you!
